Further Maths Is a Different Beast
Further Maths goes significantly deeper than standard A-Level Maths. Topics like complex numbers, matrices, hyperbolic functions, and proof by induction require a level of mathematical maturity that takes time to develop. The good news: the problem-solving skills you develop are highly transferable.
Master the Fundamentals First
Further Maths builds directly on A-Level Maths. If your core calculus, algebra, and trigonometry aren't solid, Further Maths will be extremely difficult. Make sure your standard A-Level content is strong before tackling further topics.
Practice Is Non-Negotiable
More than any other subject, Further Maths requires extensive practice. Each topic has its own techniques and patterns that only become familiar through repetition. Aim for at least 15-20 problems per topic.
Focus on the Core Pure Content
Core Pure (CP1 and CP2) is assessed by all exam boards. Key topics include: complex numbers, matrices, proof, roots of polynomials, and sequences/series. These should be your primary revision focus.
Don't Neglect Your Option Modules
